Get someone's attention and invite him/her to sit
Help the Learner invite another peer to join a conversation. The Learner begins this scene being seated with Brandon while other students are at other tables in the cafeteria. Another peer named James, who is familiar from a previous lesson in the school skill category, appears and is looking for a place to sit. He does not look in the Learner's direction. The Learner is guided to get James's attention -- first, by waving, and then, by calling his name. When this is done successfully, James approaches, sits and initiates a conversation with Brandon by commenting or complimenting him. Brandon replies with a similar comment or compliment. The Learner is guided to participate in this conversation.
